Here are some outtakes from the 6 month portrait that I thought we should share. Also, a funny picture of Dash attempting to dive into my ramen. Finally, a close-up of him drinking water from a real cup.
There are watermellon chunks inside the mesh feeder - it allows him to get the feel of eating real food without any choking hazard. We've also been filling it with ice chips because he's just cut his first two teeth, and it feels good on his sore little gums.
I'm sitting patiently, are you done yet? (Stats update: 21 lbs, 1 oz, and holding at 28.5 inches. He's been busy growing his head the last few weeks - it's now joined his height & weight in the 95% on the growth charts.)
He's only 5 1/2 months, but he's sitting up in his chair, reaching for food, smacking his lips, and generally fascinated by the whole eating process, so we thought we'd give it a try. After a few tiny bits of banana on mom's finger we decided to move on to vegetables. (Because of some intestinal slowing, we're holding off on cereal for now.) First food (not counting the banana and some prune juice) CARROTS!
